3. J.T. Barrett

Whenever you win four gold pants in your tenure with the Ohio State football program, you’ve done something special. That means you’ve never lost to TTUN in your career. That’s exactly what J.T. Barrett did during his tenure as quarterback of the Buckeyes.

Barrett killed TTUN with both his arm and his legs. In 2014 as a true freshman, he completed 13 of 21 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown and added 15 carries for 89 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground before he broke his ankle against TTUN.

In 2015, he had 113 yards passing and a touchdown through the air, but really killed TTUN with his legs. Barrett had 19 carries for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns. That was a game that was never close. Barrett’s legs would be a theme in his fight against TTUN.

In his final game against TTUN in 2017, he played hurt after getting hit in the knee by a Michigan cameraman pregame. He finished the game just 3/8 passing for 30 yards and a score but had 15 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown on the ground. While that was great, TTUn fans will always remember the 2016 game.

Barrett is the face of the moment that TTUN fans might hate more than any other moment. In that game, he totaled 124 yards through the air and had 30 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown. One specific carry he had will be remembered forever though.

On fourth and 1 in overtime, Barrett ran the ball for a first down that was reviewed. If you talk to TTUN fans, they will say he was short. Any Ohio State football fan will tell you he got it. The refs agreed, and Curtis Samuel scored the game-winning touchdown a play later.

That play will live on forever in The Game’s history. The next guy on our list started killing Michigan as a freshman too.
