10 Ohio State Football players that TTUN loved to hate the most
By Ryan Stano
5. Beanie Wells
The Ohio State football program has had a lot of running backs kill TTUN over the years. One of the most notable was Beanie Wells. Wells was a big, strong running back that burst on the scene as a true freshman in that #1 vs. #2 matchup back in 2006.
In that game, Wells had just five carries for 56 yards, but he busted off a long touchdown run that gave the Buckeyes a 21-7 lead in that game. Ohio State would ultimately win 42-39 on their way to an appearance in the National Championship Game.
2007 was Beanie’s finest moment against TTUn though. In that game, he had 39 carries for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns to take down the Wolverines. That led the Buckeyes to a 14-3 win in which he scored the only touchdowns. The Buckeyes went on to play for another national title.
In his final game against Michigan in 2008, Wells had 15 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown en route to another win. Wells never lost to TTUN and always came up big. He scored a touchdown in every game he played against them, and that’s why TTUN fans hate him.
I wish Wells would have done better at the NFL level, but he will always be a Buckeye legend for what he did against TTUN. The next guy on our list is someone I feel the exact same way about.
