6. Ted Ginn Jr.

Ted Ginn Jr. was one of the most electrifying players in Ohio State football history. Every time he got the ball in his hands, he was a threat to take it all the way to the endzone. He was a pretty good receiver but was an excellent returner. That’s where he excelled.

In 2004, the Buckeyes were big underdogs in The Game. They were unranked and taking on #7 Michigan. Ginn Jr. put on a show that day, returning a punt for a touchdown and adding 5 catches for 87 yards on the offensive side of the ball as well.

That punt return is still one of the iconic moments that gets played when talking about this rivalry. It was that good of a return. I can still hear Brent Musberger saying “This baby’s over, this race.” in my head right now just thinking about it. 2004 wasn’t the only big year he had against TTUN though.

In 2005, he had 9 catches for 89 yards when the Buckeyes went into the Big House and beat them. In 2006 during the #1 vs. #2 matchup, Ginn had a whopping 8 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. He also had 5 kick returns that he returned for a total of 105 yards.

Ginn was one of the more fun players to have come through Ohio State. I’m glad I got to see him beat TTUN three times in his career. TTUN fans hate him for what he did in both 2004 and 2006 and I love that about him.

The next guy on this list ran all over TTUN.
