Three players Ohio State Football should target in the transfer portal
By Ryan Stano
3. Lorenzo Styles
The Ohio State football team already has Sonny Styles on the team at safety. The former five-star is going to play a bigger role in the defense this season. His brother, Lorenzo Styles, just entered the transfer portal on Friday. He was also at Notre Dame and played receiver.
Styles is looking to make a big change though. He announced that wherever he ends up, he is looking to make a full-time switch to defensive back. That would be good news for the Buckeyes considering they don’t need any help at the wide receiver position.
Bringing in Styles would be a cool thing to help a secondary that needs all the help it can get. I wouldn’t expect Lorenzo to get much playing time like his brother Sonny will, but he can develop and maybe get on the field a season from now. Then both Styles’ would play together.
While Styles wouldn’t be an immediate plug-and-play, he is still athletic. He played receiver at a Power 5 program and was pretty good for the Irish. He has some natural talent to play with. It would be up to Tim Walton and Perry Eliano to coach him up if he were to come to Columbus.
I think adding any of these three players would be a benefit to the Ohio State football team this year and beyond too. It would be nice to see Ryan Day reach into the portal to get this team some help.
