Ohio State Football gets four-star TE before Spring Game
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team was expected to get a few recruits this weekend while the Spring Game is going on. They have a number of prospects on campus for the game to take in everything. They have already landed their first commitment from one of those prospects.
Four-star tight end Max LeBlanc has announced his commitment to the Buckeyes. He is from the state of Tennessee and is listed at 6’3 and 222 pounds. The Buckeyes are trying to get more tight ends into the program that are versatile and LeBlanc is certainly that.
LeBlanc does a good job tracking the ball when he’s a pass catcher. He has soft hands and a good catch radius. As a blocker, he’s pretty solid as well. There are still things he needs to work on, but he’s still very young. He’s a good prospect for the Buckeyes to add.
LeBlanc had offers from a lot of big-boy programs. He chose the Ohio State football team over Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and a host of others. He had a lot of great programs looking for his services. He chose to come to Columbus instead.
The Buckeyes are starting to get a host of tight ends that are highly rated into the program. I wonder if this means that Ryan Day is planning on getting them more involved in the passing game than he has in years past. Maybe that’s what Brian Hartline wants too.
We’ll see how much of an impact LeBlanc makes when he gets on campus. He may be the first commitment this weekend but he certainly won’t be the last. The Buckeyes have plenty of other prospects who are looking to make their college choice this weekend while watching the Spring Game.
