The Ohio State football vs. TTUN rivalry already has a million layers to it. These two programs hate each other for a multitude of reasons. The rivalry also finally has some juice to it after 20 years of dominance from the Buckeyes previous to them losing the last two seasons.

A recruit who just committed to TTUN, quarterback Jadyn Davis is supremely confident in his decision. He’s so confident in fact that he apparently has tried to go after some recruits that the Buckeyes have in their 2024 recruiting class already.

Obviously, this hasn’t been successful. I doubt that it will anyway, especially if he’s trying to go after either wide receiver commit. There’s no better place to go in the country if you are a wide receiver. Brian Hartline does the best job of any assistant coach in recruiting a specific position group.

I don’t like that the last two wins have given TTUN some confidence, but I do like what it was done to the rivalry. It has injected life into something that seemed dead. This is just another layer of that juice that has been added to The Game. Davis also has to know that he’s going to fail in his endeavor.

Ohio State has been able to get a flurry of commits in the past week as the Spring Game draws ever closer. I would expect them to get some more once that weekend actually gets here. If any recruit has any thought of flipping to TTUN, the Buckeyes don’t want him anyway.

This year’s version of The Game is going to be monstrous. I can’t wait to watch it in late November. A lot of questions will be answered after that one.
