The Ohio State football team had one of the great Buckeye teams of all time back in 2014 when they won the national championship. They weren’t even supposed to be that good that year. 2015 was when they were supposed to be true title contenders.

One of the key members of that team was Darron Lee. He played some great football that year and eventually was a first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. While his NFL career has not panned out the way he had hoped, that pales in comparison to an incident he has been arrested for.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Lee has been arrested on two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence and misdemeanor assault. One incident allegedly happened on October 17th and the other allegedly took place on Monday. Both happened in Dublin, Ohio.

Lee is accused of punching a relative of his girlfriend in the head multiple times in the incident that happened on Monday. He is accused of allegedly choking the mother of his child while having an argument and telling her that he would kill her and her child.

This is not a good look if any of these things are true. Domestic violence is abhorrent and should never be accepted under any circumstances. If these allegations are found to be true, you can bet that his NFL career is over because no team would sign him after this.

Lee last got a chance with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 as he was on their practice squad. Perhaps his career was already over. Either way, I hope this former Ohio State football player is able to get his life back on track because this is a really bad moment for him. This is unacceptable behavior if proven to be true.
