Former Ohio State basketball has good game in championship loss
By Ryan Stano
The 2022-23 national champion was crowned last night in Houston. After a long season that featured perhaps the wildest NCAA Tournament in history, it came down to two teams. It was San Diego State vs. UConn. One of those teams had a former Ohio State basketball player on it.
That team was SDSU and that player was Jaedon LeDee. LeDee has been coming off the bench for the Aztecs and had a tall task along with the frontcourt going against the length of UConn. LeDee handled it better than almost anyone else San Diego State had though.
The former Buckeye finished with 7 points, 4 rebounds, and an assist on 3-6 shooting. He played the most minutes off the bench for the Aztecs, getting 18 minutes of action. It didn’t matter though because UConn was just too good. They won the game 76-59.
It would’ve been nice to see a former Ohio State basketball player get a national championship under his belt. He’s done better than most ex-Buckeyes have since leaving Ohio State. Unfortunately for him and the rest of the team, they came just one game short of a title.
Now Buckeye fans can look forward to next season. More than that, they can look forward to getting the bad taste of this season out of their mouths. Next year’s team will have a lot of young talent on it. We’ll see if they can put it together to win some games.
Ohio State fans now can look forward to the Spring Game that is in a couple of weeks. That will be our first look at this new Buckeye football team and who the new quarterback might be. It’s time to transition sports seasons now.
