A lot was made about the Ohio State football team losing an in-state recruit to TTUN. It wasn’t a good look just from the standpoint that TTUN was able to come and get a recruit who grew up rooting for the Buckeyes in the state of Ohio. He was a four-star running back.

Ohio State had someone else on their mind and they got him late Sunday night. That someone is four-star running back James Peoples. Peoples comes from the State of Texas and is listed as the fifth-best running back in the country. He had all of the big schools after him, including Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Peoples stands at 5’10 and 192 pounds and is from San Antonio. He is also someone that runs track and field so you know he’s got great speed. That is something that comes across in his tape too. He has breakaway speed once he gets through the line.

Something else Peoples does well is fight through contact. He is really adept at breaking tackles and won’t be brought down by arm tackles. Perhaps the thing I like best about him is that he runs downhill. He doesn’t dance at all when he gets the ball. He just goes.

With the Ohio State football team landing Peoples, they have now moved into the top five in terms of the recruiting rankings for the 2024 class. It also gives them a total of seven commits for this class. With the Spring Game just a couple of weeks away now, more commitments are coming soon.

Next. Could another receiver earn playing time?. dark

It’s good to see the Buckeyes lock up their running back for this class. Now if they can get a quarterback, that would be excellent. I’d also love to see some secondary members commit too considering how bad that unit has been for the last couple of years.
