4. Justin Ahrens

This is the only player on this list who played more than two seasons for the Buckeyes. In fact, Justin Ahrens actually played four seasons at Ohio State before deciding to transfer after last season. He did help the Buckeyes in some games too.

Everyone remembers the 29-point outburst he had as a freshman in the 2018-19 season against Iowa. In that game, he made 6 of his 10 three-point attempts and gave hope to Buckeye fans everywhere that he could be the shooter that the team desperately needed.

Unfortunately, that was the high point of his Ohio State career. He never averaged more than 6 points per game for the Buckeyes and shot just 34.6% from the field last season before he decided to transfer. He lost his starting spot midway through the year as well.

Ahrens transferred to Loyola Marymount this past year and started every game he played for them. He shot just 32.7% from deep though. He never got better on defense throughout his college career either. It seems like he lost his confidence shooting the ball.

Ahrens’ career is over now after that season with Loyola Marymount. It’s a shame he never was able to put it all together. Let’s finish this list with someone who has actually done better things since they left Holtmann’s Buckeyes!
