The Ohio State football team is underway with Spring practices. One true freshman is standing out thus far for the Buckeyes.

With spring practices going on for the Ohio State football team, it’s only natural to wonder what young players are coming of age for the Buckeyes. Offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline gave us a glimpse of who is making an impression when speaking yesterday, from Eleven Warriors:

"“(Noah Rodgers) is a good football player. Noah is a great individual. I don’t know if there is a person who asked me more about my family through recruiting than Noah Rogers. He is compassionate, he has high give a s— and he really has a ceiling that cannot be calculated.”"

It’s great to see one of these freshmen start to pop as Ohio State will be looking for young receivers to step up following the 2023 season. Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, Julian Fleming, and Xavier Johnson all might be gone after the season, so the Buckeyes have to figure out who is next in line when it comes to the receiver’s room.

Noah Rodgers was a big-time recruiting win for Ohio State and Brian Hartline. The borderline five-star player came in ranked No. 40 in the 247 Sports recruiting rankings for the 2023 class. Rodgers committed last summer but still visited North Carolina and North Carolina State this past Fall so the Buckeyes had a little worry about him up until November when he came to Columbus for an official visit.

Ryan Day recently said that the incoming freshmen at receiver are already on the second-year receivers’ heels, so he’d like to see those players start to step-up. And with five-star, top-25 national recruit Brandon Inniss coming to Columbus in June, these young wide-outs better start gaining some momentum before he shows up.
