Ohio State was able to survive the Hawkeyes, outlasting them 73-69. It was a close game throughout the afternoon, which the largest lead of the game being six points, by the Buckeyes. The freshmen were who sealed this game for the Buckeyes.
Brice Sensabaugh was good again offensively. He finished with 16 points on 8/14 shooting and added 4 rebounds. He hit some really tough shots in the first half that show just how skilled he is shooting the basketball. Sensabaugh wasn’t the only freshman who scored well though.
Bruce Thornton continues to be the best player on this team. He had 17 points on 8/13 shooting to go along with 6 assists. He really controlled the game early offensively. The Buckeyes have needed someone to step up with the ball in their hands, and he has.
Roddy Gayle also stepped up. He had some great plays defensively and hit some big shots down the stretch, including a huge three. He finished with just 7 points, but they were all late in the game when the Buckeyes were trying to close this game out.
With this win, the Ohio State basketball team will take on Michigan State tomorrow at 2:30. It’ll be their third time playing the Spartans, having lost the other two games.
