The Ohio State basketball team has not had the season that they wanted. They more than likely won’t be playing in the postseason this year. The only way that’s possible is if they win the Big Ten Tournament this week, rattling off five wins in five days.

We know that won’t happen. What the Buckeyes can do though is play spoiler. They can do that first with their opponent on Wednesday. They take on Wisconsin, who sits firmly on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. A loss to the Buckeyes would likely keep them out.

Even though the Buckeyes are going off a tough loss to Michigan State to finish the season, they still have been playing better in general in the last couple of weeks. They look like a team that is playing hard on both sides of the ball which is something we couldn’t say a month ago.

The Ohio State basketball team actually played Wisconsin pretty well the first time they played them. They lost 65-60 in the only matchup of the season. It was one of many games this year that the Buckeyes had a chance to win but couldn’t seal it up late.

There is a big difference in pressure between these two teams this time around though. This time, the Buckeyes have absolutely nothing to lose. They can play as free as they want to because win or loss, their season will likely end up the same. The same cannot be said for the Badgers.

If Ohio State were to beat the Badgers, they could play spoiler again once they play Iowa. Iowa is probably going to make the Tourney, but the Buckeyes could do some damage to their seed-line. Spoiler is all the Buckeyes have to play for now.
