The Ohio State football team is returning some great players for the 2023 season. Here are the top three.

The Ohio State football team is ready for spring practices come Tuesday. The Buckeyes will have many intriguing storylines as the spring unfolds and multiple roster decisions to make. The coaching staff will look a little different with Brian Hartline moving up to offensive coordinator and James Laurinaitis returning to Columbus to coach the linebackers.

But the 2023 season is officially underway next week. And with that, there are many players returning for Ohio State that will have significant impacts on the season. Here are the top three returning players for the Buckeyes in 2023.

No. 3: J.T. Tuimoloau, DE

If Ohio State wants to get back to the College Football Playoffs then the defense will need to play even better than it did in 2022. Ohio State’s schedule should be a little harder having to play Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Michigan all on the road. And with a new quarterback getting ready to play for the Buckeyes, the defense will probably need to carry them some games.

Enter third-year defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. He showed flashes of greatness last season, absolutely taking over the Penn State game in Happy Valley. I think we are in store for more of that in 2023 and Tuimoloau should only get better with another offseason of seasoning under Larry Johnson.

The former five-star, top-five national recruit from the 2021 recruiting class is going to want to make his stamp on this season as he hopes it will catapult him into the first round of the NFL Draft come 2024.
