Ohio State Football: Two Buckeyes crack All-PFF team for 2023
The Ohio State football team has many great players returning for the 2023 season. According to PFF, these two stand-outs.
The Ohio State football team is about to start spring practices next week. With all the returning talent on this Buckeye squad, nothing short of a College Playoff birth should do for fans. Last week, Pro Football Focus took notice of all the talent and added two players to its All returning 2023 team.
Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka are the two receivers on that team. Crazy to think that the two starting receivers on the Ohio State football team next year very well could be the two best in all of college football. But that is a testament to what coach Brian Hartline has been able to do in both recruiting and developing while at Ohio State.
Here is what PFF said on the duo:
"“Outside of Marvin Harrison Jr., Egbuka was the most valuable Power Five wide receiver last year, according to PFF’s wins above average metric. Only Harrison tallied more receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last year than Egbuka among returning Power Five receivers.”"
Both Harrison and Egbuka went for over 1,000 yards receiving each in 2022 and they will look to repeat those numbers in 2023. I think most people saw Harrison coming on, especially after his 2022 Rose Bowl performance but Egbuka’s great 2022 season was a little more surprising.
Egbuka was absolutely terrific taking over for an injured Jaxon Smith-Njigba and provided quarterback CJ Stroud the safety and security he needed when looking to move the sticks. These two players will be even more vital in 2023 and the Buckeyes will be breaking in a new starting quarterback.
Ohio State’s aerial assault should be lethal in 2023. With the top two receivers in the country returning, and with a slew of talented recovers behind them ready to step up, the Buckeyes should see some massive reception totals next season.
