If you’re still paying attention to the Ohio State basketball team, tonight might be the last chance they play a team they can beat. The Buckeyes play at home at 6:30 pm ET against Penn State, a team that is perilously on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament.

The Buckeyes are not on the bubble for any postseason play. They are firmly out and will be sitting at home watching teams play. What the Buckeyes can do though is play spoiler to the Nittany Lions. Losing to Ohio State would be devastating to Penn State’s tournament resume.

Ohio State has started to voice some frustration about how the season has gone, so things are still in a bad way around Columbus. The good news is that this game is at home, so at least they don’t have to deal with a good environment. This is their last, best chance at getting a win before the season ends.

According to FanDuel, the Buckeyes somehow sit at 1.5-point favorites. I don’t know how that’s possible considering they just got blasted by almost 30 points by Purdue last weekend. Ohio State will also be without Zed Key for this game and the rest of the season.

Prediction: Ohio State basketball 65 Penn State 70

Nothing I’ve seen over the past month makes me think the Buckeyes can win this game. I would take Penn State to win this game outright. The fact that they’re getting points is even better. The over/under is set at 142.5, and as you can tell I think it goes under. Ohio State can’t score.

Next. Zed Key's season is over. dark

Ohio State finishes the season after this with home games against Illinois and Maryland before finishing on the road against Michigan State. I don’t see them winning any of those games. If they can’t win tonight, 11 games are all they’ll win this regular season.
