It’s getting harder and harder to watch this Ohio State basketball team. They played yet another game at home and it didn’t matter. The Buckeyes weren’t able to do much of anything on offense and got their butts beaten 62-41. It wasn’t close really at any point.

The Buckeyes are completely hopeless at this point. They scored just 14 points in the first half. It was their worst offensive output in the first half since 1996. It’s sad to watch this team play because they play with such little urgency once they see they can’t make shots.

Only one player scored in double-digits for the Buckeyes, and that was Sean McNeil. He had 10 points, but on just 4-13 shooting. McNeil was really just the best of a bad group, which isn’t saying much. Even changing the starting lineup again didn’t work.

In this game, Chris Holtmann started Roddy Gayle instead of Isaac Likekele. The Ohio State basketball team shot just 28% from the field and 20% from three. Gayle was just 2-6 and Likekele didn’t even take a shot. This whole team is a mess on offense.

The Buckeyes can’t do anything offensively. A lot of it is because they don’t get easy shots. That is a product of coaching. Chris Holtmann refuses to run more plays in the half-court, and that is killing this team’s chances of winning. They can’t get anyone open for easy looks.

Ohio State is now 11-14 and still has just three wins in Big Ten play. At this point, fans are going to stop watching these games. They’re not fun to watch. They don’t play particularly hard or with any sort of purpose. The team doesn’t have any motivation to play hard at this point.

Holtmann has lost the support of the fanbase. I’m not sure what else he can do to fix that.
