Ohio State basketball vs. Michigan: Prediction, best bets
By Ryan Stano
Yes, it’s time for another Ohio State basketball game. The ones in the last six weeks or so have not been fun to watch. This is a basketball team that is playing with very little confidence, no rhythm on offense, and no way to close games that end are in up being close at the end.
Now, they travel to Ann Arbor to play another struggling team in Michigan. Both teams are in desperate need of a win. Ohio State is just 11-11 on the season while TTUN is 12-10. The difference is in the conference records, where Michigan is 6-5 and the Buckeyes are just 3-8.
If TTUN wins this game, they still have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament. If the Ohio State basketball team wins, it means almost nothing. They won’t be playing in the postseason this March. All this win will be is a nice win against their rivals.
Ohio State basketball vs. Michigan: Best bets
If you do decide to bet this game, fade the Buckeyes. There’s only been one consistent source of offense for them and that’s Brice Sensabaugh. The over/under on his points is 16.5 according to FanDuel. I would take the over on that. That’s the only positive Ohio State bet I would make.
Michigan stands at 2.5-point favorites. I would take that action. Ohio State can’t close games and I think 3 points are safe enough to bet on TTUN. As far as the over/under is concerned, that sits at 145.5. Considering Ohio State scored just 60 last game, I would take the under.
The other bet I like is for TTUN to win the first half and the game. Those odds sit at +110. The Bucks aren’t coming into this game feeling good and didn’t come out with any juice in the first half against Wisconsin. Until proven otherwise, I think the same thing happens again.
Ohio State basketball vs. Michigan: Prediction
I don’t see any way that the Buckeyes win this game. They are playing like the worst team in the Big Ten and are coached poorly. Those two things don’t correlate to wins. As much as I hate to say it, I think the Buckeyes lose to their rivals today and fall under .500.
Give me TTUN 72-61.
