Ohio State football could use TTUN situation to their advantage in recruiting
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is trying to turn the page on a disappointing end to the 2022 season. It’s a season that saw the Buckeyes lose their final two games of the season. Buckeye fans are always going to remember this season with anguish because of what could have been.
Despite this, they haven’t had as much of an interesting offseason as TTUN. That program has seen them fire their OC after an investigation of which we still don’t know the details, an NCAA investigation resulting in possible penalties, and a head coach trying desperately to get back to the NFL.
Jim Harbaugh even met with the Denver Broncos as recently as last week to try and get the job. No offer materialized though. This was after he’d already released a statement indicating that he was staying at Michigan. It seems like the man can’t be trusted.
Ohio State can use this to their advantage. Both the Ohio State football program and TTUN fight for a lot of the same recruits. Ryan Day can certainly use these scenarios to his advantage in landing some of those recruits. Any advantage in landing recruits is a good one.
I know that what is happening up in Ann Arbor can’t be good for their recruiting. Ohio State won’t be the only program that uses negative recruiting tactics against them based on what’s happened. How many recruits it helps the Buckeyes get remains to be seen. We know they’d love to steal a quarterback from them at the bare minimum.
It’s a long offseason. More things will come up that will make the recruiting easier for Ohio State. It’s up to the staff to use these situations to the best of their abilities and land some of these contested recruits.
