Ohio State Women’s basketball team is a Final Four contender

The Ohio State Women’s basketball team is so much more fun to watch than the men’s team is. The women are ranked second in the country and have started 19-0 this season. That is a school record. Quite honestly, they have an argument that they are the best team in the country.

Part of the reason they have been so good this season is because of their swarming defense. They often force 30+ turnovers in a game, which is an insane number. Ohio State uses a full-court press that flusters opponents into speeding up their decision-making and that forces errors.

Jacy Sheldon and Taylor Mikesell are the two that make the show go. Sheldon is one of the best point guards in the country and is averaging 14 points, 4.5 assists, and a whopping 6.5 steals. Unfortunately, she has only played in five games so far this season but is close to coming back.

Mikesell has been the one keeping the show going offensively. She’s averaging 18.5 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.6 steals on 45% shooting from the field and 40% from three. She’s a threat to launch a three from anywhere on the court, and that opens things up for everyone else.

The other thing that makes this Ohio State women’s basketball team so much fun to watch is the fact that the share the ball. They move the ball side-to-side and pass to get each other open. That’s why their half-court offense is much more effective than the men’s.

I’m positive that this team will be fun to watch in the NCAA Tournament. Kevin McGuff has a real chance to win a national championship with this group. If you want to watch any Ohio State basketball team, this is the one to watch. These girls are really good and deserve your support.
