The Ohio State football program has a long history of producing NFL talent. A large reason why they have been so good is that they get some of the best recruits in the country. Recruits see how well the alumni play in the NFL and that makes them want to come to Columbus.

Ohio State uses the success of its alumni in recruiting pitches, as they should. If you constantly develop players who do great things in the NFL they should use that to get more great players from high school. They will certainly use this statistic to help with recruiting.

That statistic is how many Buckeye alumni are in the upcoming NFL playoffs. In fact, they are ranked in the top five programs in terms of the number of alumni participating in the playoffs. According to ClutchBet, they have 24 alumni playing this weekend.

The Ohio State football team has the fifth-most. LSU leads the way with 27. Ohio State has high-profile players in the playoffs too, such as the Bosa brothers, Ezekiel Elliott, and Joe Burrow. Those are just some of the players who will be participating in the playoffs.

You know that the Buckeyes will be using this in their upcoming recruiting material, including on social media. We’ve already seen that if you go to Ohio State, you are more likely to get paid an enormous sum of money once you reach the league.

We’ll see how each of these former Buckeyes are able to play in the games this weekend. I’m hoping that they all have great games, even if it’s impossible for them all to win games. I root for Ohio State football players every week I watch the NFL.

There will be more postseasons with plenty of Ohio State alumni in them too.
