Ohio State Football: WR says he’s been contacted by other schools
By Ryan Stano
This is the age of NIL in college football. When it became legal, we knew exactly what it was going to be. It is essentially free agency in college football. With players being able to transfer once without penalty, it’s never been easier to get money. Now, Ohio State football players are dealing with that too.
You’ve heard stories this offseason, really as soon as the transfer portal window opened up, that players have been contacted by schools they weren’t enrolled in. The same is now true for Buckeye players. One receiver has claimed that other schools have tried to reach out to him.
The Ohio State football team had a wide receiver contacted by other schools.
Talking to the media ahead of the Peach Bowl, Emeka Egbuka mentioned that he has been contacted by other schools. He did say that he was “content” at Ohio State and hadn’t put any credence in being reached out to. He did not specify what schools or if coaches had reached out directly.
You’re going to hear this more and more often. Unlike some people who were once with the program have claimed (if you follow us on Twitter you know who I’m talking about), Marvin Harrison Jr. has not been contacted by other schools.
I don’t think that Ohio State football fans have to worry about Egbuka transferring somewhere else. He is locked in here and is one of the go-to guys on the team. He knows that playing here prepares you for the next level like nowhere else in the country.
We’ll let you know if anything else develops from this story, but I doubt it. I do believe Egbuka when he says he’s happy in Columbus. He only has one year left before he declares for the NFL Draft anyway. Might as well stay here.
