The Ohio State basketball team had two non-conference games left on their schedule heading into Wednesday night. The first of those was against Maine. This was a good opportunity to get the sour taste of the North Carolina loss out of their mouth.

That’s exactly what the Buckeyes did. They dominated this game from start to finish, leading by 20+ points for most of the contest. They ended up winning the game 95-61, thanks in large part to good games by two Buckeyes who have become the keys to this team.

Brice Sensabaugh continued his strong play. He was good once again, scoring 19 points as he started yet again. It’s the third-straight game he’s started with Isaac Likekele still not with the team. Sensabaugh scored efficiently too, getting those points on 8-12 shooting.

Zed Key also had another great game. He had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He did a little bit of everything out there. There are going to be several games this season where he is the best player on the floor. He’s really improved his game.

This game was expected to be a blowout and that’s ecactly what it was. There will be on more blowout in the non-conference part of the schedule as the Buckeyes play Alabama A&M in just over a week. After that, it’s Big Ten play the rest of the way.

This game should help the freshmen gain confidence in their game and help with the overall chemistry this team is still trying to build. It was a good effort for this team on both ends of the floor for the Ohio State basketball team.

I’m really interested to see how they are able to fare in the Big Ten where the competition steps up quite a bit. We’ll find out next month.
