The Ohio State football team produces a ton of draft prospects every year. It’s a program that NFL scouts love to pick from when it comes to draft picks. They seem to have at least one really good player every year head into the league and make an immediate impact.

From the 2021 Draft, the Buckeyes actually have two. Both Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave have a shot at the Rookie of the Year Award. Both have been spectacular this year despite having to deal with less-than-stellar quarterback play. Which Buckeye from the current draft class will have the best career?

Most people would jump right to C.J. Stroud. He is projected to be the top Ohio State football player taken. He’s very good and I do think he’s one of the three quarterbacks in this class that will have solid NFL careers. I don’t think he’s the best NFL prospect from the 2023 draft-eligible Buckeyes though.

I think that title goes to Paris Johnson Jr. Paris is projected to be either the first or second tackle drafted this year. He has shown versatility, being dominant at both guard and left tackle. He projects as a left tackle at the next level and should be great for a decade.

Left tackle might be the most important position on the offensive line. That’s the guy who protects your quarterback’s blindside. Johnson Jr. has proven that he can do that very well, not giving up a sack this entire season while playing that spot.

I think both Stroud and Johnson Jr. have really good careers at the next level. I just think that Johnson Jr. has All-Pro potential sooner than I believe Stroud does. Johnson Jr. could be a day-one starter for whatever franchise is lucky enough to take him.
