It’s award season in college football and every outlet is giving out All-American honors. The Ohio State football team just had several players honored by the Associated Press in their All-American team, with one player getting First-Team honors for the second time.

That is Marvin Harrison Jr. He was named a consensus First-Team All-American by the AP. This is the second outlet to name him the First Team. He already had a tree in Buckeye Grove but now that tree has been solidified. Harrison Jr. had 72 catches for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns this year.

Both Ohio State tackles earned Second-Team All-American honors from the AP. Paris Johnson Jr. gets his second All-American honor this year while Dawand Jones gets his first. Johnson Jr. is the other Buckeye who will get a tree in Buckeye Grove this year.

Ronnie Hickman was also named Second-Team All-America. He had a pretty good season until the last game of the year. His numbers were actually down from 2021 because he didn’t have to make every single tackle. He had 51 this year and 98 a year ago.

Part of the reason he didn’t have to make every single tackle is because of Tommy Eichenberg. He was also named Second-Team All-America. He led the team in tackles with a whopping 112 and was all over the field all season long. Eichenberg is a huge reason why this defense improved from last year.

All of these players had great seasons for the Ohio State football team. The Buckeyes are hoping these guys can help them beat Georgia and keep their season alive. All of them are going to need to play well if Ohio State wants to upset Georgia.

Next. OSU could lose RB to the transfer portal. dark

All of these players except for Harrison Jr. will be in the pros next year. I can’t wait to see how they play at the next level.
