No. 1: Gee Scott, Tight End

Gee Scott had arguably the worst play in the Michigan game for an Ohio State player when he had an un-sportsman-like penalty that derailed an offensive drive for the Buckeyes. Ryan Day was so disgusted that he pulled Gee from the game immediately.

But Gee has a chance to redeem himself in this game. Ohio State needs to be able to take advantage of the middle of the field. It’s one thing the Buckeyes have lacked in its recent games. Taking shots down the seam, Gee could be an unlikely hero in that role.

Now I’m not saying Gee is going for 100 yards receiving with two touchdowns, but if you remember what Ryan Day did against Clemson in the 2020 Sugar Bowl, he used his two tight ends in Luke Farrell and Jeremy Ruckert extensively in the passing game, especially down the seams.

Gee is a great athlete as he was recruited to Ohio State to be a receiver. Look for him to possibly have a role in this game trying to exploit Georgia’s safeties.
