No.  2: Jordan Hancock, Cornerback

I’ve been saying since Hancock finally got healthy halfway through the season that this is a player ready to break out. It has not happened yet, only playing a limited number of snaps against Michigan the last time Ohio State took the field.

But once again, with a month off and time to hit the practice field hard, Jordan Hancock might be finally in a position to take advantage. The Buckeyes desperately need good cornerback play to have any chance at beating Georgia. Hancock, who was in the mix to start before a fall camp injury derailed the start of his season, might be a player that the Buckeyes turn to in this matchup.

We know that the Ohio State football team desperately needs help in the secondary, specifically at the cornerback position. The corners got torched against TTUN repeatedly, and JJ McCarthy isn’t even a good quarterback. He still only completed 50% of his passes in that game.

The Buckeyes will be going against a much better quarterback in the Peach Bowl. Stetson Bennett is a Heisman Trophy candidate for a reason. He is someone that can definitely carve up the Ohio State secondary if he is given the opportunity. Hancock might be able to help with that.

It’s not like the Buckeyes can snap their fingers and get new cornerbacks on the roster. They need to hope that Hancock is all the way back from his injuries and can provide some stability at that position. If he isn’t the Bucks might be in big trouble.

The final player is someone who was a big-time goat in The Game and really hurt the Buckeyes.
