Two more Ohio State Football players earn trees in Buckeye Grove
By Ryan Stano
Buckeye Grove is one of the most underrated traditions that the Ohio State football team has. Any player that earns First-Team All-America status from a major outlet gets a tree in Buckeye Grove. It’s a true monument to those who were great wearing a Buckeye uniform.
Two more guys will get that honor after being named to the Football Writers Association of America First Team. Those two players are Paris Johnson Jr. and Marvin Harrison Jr. Both get trees and will be immortalized as Ohio State football greats forever.
Johnson Jr. has done an excellent job as the starting left tackle this year. He swung out to tackle after playing guard last year. Tackle is his natural position, and he has proven to be one of the best tackles in the country and might be the first tackle taken in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Harrison Jr. has arguably been the best receiver in college football this season. After being snubbed last night from winning the Biletnikoff award, he will get a tree in Buckeye Grove. The scary thing is that he’s coming back next year and will be even better.
It’s good to see two very deserving guys get trees. Harrison Jr. has a chance to be the best receiver Ohio State has ever had. That’s saying something considering how many great players have played for this program. Johnson Jr. was one of the most reliable offensive linemen in recent memory.
Both players have a chance to continue making their mark on this program in the College Football Playoff. If they can help this team win a national championship, they will be remembered forever in Ohio State lore. If the Buckeyes are going to win, they need both of these guys to play well.
We’ll find out in just a few weeks if they are able to help make that happen.
