Normally when the Ohio State football team has made the Playoff, they come in feeling good about themselves. It’s either been after winning a Big Ten title or after a win against TTUN. This is the first time that they have come into a semifinal matchup after a loss.

The loss at the end of November was more than any normal loss though. This was the type of loss that had Buckeye fans questioning everything about how the Ohio State football program approached that game. It had everyone questioning how good Ryan Day was as well.

There was a lot of chatter after that game, and deservedly so. But now they still have a chance to win a national championship. In order to do that, they have to beat the undefeated defending national champions. That’s going to take everything that they have in order to do so.

Ohio State has to use some of this time before the bowl game to emotionally recover from that loss in The Game. They need to get their mind right before the Peach Bowl. If they don’t, they will suffer a second consecutive blowout to finish the 2022 season.

Ryan Day acknowledged that the team didn’t really start moving on from the loss until Thursday. Now they have about three weeks to prepare for the number one team in the country. They need to get themselves emotionally ready for an opponent that tough.

If Day is able to win this game, it might be the most impressive win he’s ever had as head coach of the Ohio State football team. It would also put the Buckeyes in a position to play for a national title for the second time under him. There is a lot at stake and he knows it.
