It’s here. It’s finally here. Beat Michigan week has arrived for the Ohio State football team. The Buckeyes can finally put their full attention to beating TTUN and avenging the painful loss they suffered at their hands a year ago. They can finally put all the other nonsense behind them.

This will be a matchup for the ages. It’s only the third time since 2006 that this will be a top-three matchup between these two great rivals. It’s the greatest rivalry in sports for a reason and this will be just another chapter in this rivalry’s storied history.

Both teams come into the game having struggled to win in the previous week. Ohio State escaped Maryland 43-30 while Michigan needed a last-second field goal to beat Illinois 19-17. Both teams were clearly looking ahead to this showdown. They no longer need to do that.

According to FanDuel, Ohio State sits as an 8.5-point favorite right now. That’s actually fairly surprising to me considering that TTUN is the third-ranked team in the country. Bettors clearly have faith in Ohio State winning this game at home and getting revenge.

The over/under for this game is set at 57.5. Normally, I would say that’s pretty low for these two teams. But there could be some bad weather for this game based on a very early forecast. Things can change between now and then, but that’s something we’re definitely going to be keeping our eye on.

I want to make it very clear that this is an early prediction. I will make my final prediction for the game later in the week. This is just my gut reaction without having done the necessary work to form my final prediction. We also don’t know the injury situation yet for either team.

Based on what I saw from both teams last week, I think the Buckeyes will win a very close game 35-31. I think both teams are fairly evenly matched because both have big flaws on offense. Ohio State struggles to run the ball and Michigan can’t throw it.
