The Ohio State football team has one final tune-up before The Game next week. That tune-up is against Maryland. While Maryland isn’t a great team, they are still pretty good. They have won six games this year and have an offense that can’t be ignored.

Ohio State’s defense has been pretty solid so far this season. We’ve talked about how much they’ve improved from a year ago on that side of the ball and that makes them contenders. How healthy the Buckeyes will be on offense is the concerning thing for this game though.

We still don’t know the status of Miyan Williams after he left the last game on a cart. TreVeyon Henderson should be back this week, but we still don’t know about Jaxon Smith-Njigba. We probably won’t know anything about final injuries until just before kickoff.

Ohio State football vs. Maryland Odds Week 12

According to FanDuel, Ohio State sits at 27.5-point favorites over Maryland right now. The Buckeyes did manage to cover the spread against Indiana last week and I think it’s a safe bet they do this week. They won’t get caught looking ahead to next week’s showdown.

The over/under currently sits at 64.5. The over hit last week and I think it will this week too. Maryland has a much better offense than Indiana so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them move the ball a little bit and put up some points. Ohio State’s offense is just better though.

Ohio State is the better team, there’s no doubt about that. The Buckeyes are better on both sides of the ball. The question is whether or not Maryland can catch them looking ahead in anticipation of The Game. I don’t think that Ryan Day will let his team do that though.

Ohio State is destined to face Michigan undefeated. Give me the Buckeyes 52-17 in this one.
