Prediction 1: C.J. Stroud has his best statistical game of the season.

This season is quickly winding down. We’re already in November! With only four more regular season games on the schedule, this is the game for Ryan Day to let C.J. Stroud eat for his Heisman push.

Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker has been getting all the buzz as of late for the Heisman and for good measure. He’s been excellent in wins against Alabama and last week against a stout Kentucky defense. Hooker is also in the game of the week this Saturday as his Volunteers take on Georgia in what should be an awesome contest.

So, what better way to get some of the spotlight back on Stroud than to let him light up the Wildcats this weekend? I’m definitely a believer that Day tries to get his players stats, especially at quarterback. What better way to recruit skill position players than by saying “look at these numbers!”?

Northwestern is just stuck in the crosshairs here. Unfortunately for them, this game will get ugly pretty quickly as Day is going to let Stroud sling it around to all his weapons. And this could also be a good game to try to work the injured Jaxon Smith-Njigba back into the fold if he’s healthy enough.

By the end of the third quarter or early fourth Stroud’s day will be over with a stat line that reads something like 25-30 passing for 475 yards and five touchdowns. A game like that should help his final season totals when it comes time to vote on the Heisman.
