1. Who will stand out as a scoring threat for this Ohio State basketball team?

The biggest uncertainty about this Ohio State basketball team coming into the regular season is who will take a big leap and be the main scoring threat. I see three guys that can take that jump.

The first one is Justice Sueing. The “Super Senior” is thrilled to be back for another season with the Buckeyes. Sueing can do just about everything on the offensive end. After missing all of last season due to injury, he’s going to have an increased role this year as the leader of this Buckeye basketball team.

Another vital piece to the offense this season will be the play of Zed Key. After averaging 7.8 points per game a season ago, the now junior big man spent a great deal of time this offseason trying to expand his game offensively. The Buckeyes will feed Key in the post as much as they can, but don’t be surprised if you see him put up shots from beyond the arc this season.

A newcomer that could have a massive role offensively in his first year with the Buckeyes is Wright State transfer Tanner Holden. Holden averaged 20.1 points per game for the Raiders and led them to an NCAA Tournament berth a season ago. He has the tools in his offensive game that can lead the Buckeyes as well.

The Buckeyes lost two guys who did the majority of the scoring last season to the NBA. It’s going to be a tough task, but someone has to fill the shoes of E.J. Liddell and Malaki Branham in order for this team to have a successful season.

Ohio State will need a true scoring threat this year, but their play on defense must be better as well.
