The Ohio State football team has its toughest challenge so far coming up this week when they take on Penn State. Penn State is a good team and is ranked 13th overall. To make matters harder for the Buckeyes, it is on the road and is only the second road game they’ve played this year.

Ohio State has an elite offense and defense if you look at the numbers. This week will truly tell us if the defense is elite because this is by far the best offensive team we’ve seen them take on. They should still be able to move the ball fairly well since they did that against an Iowa team with an even better defense.

How the Buckeyes react to a hostile environment will really determine whether or not they can avoid an upset and continue to roll through the Big Ten unscathed. I think this is a game that will make a lot of Ohio State football fans uncomfortable.

Ohio State football vs. Penn State Odds Week 9

According to FanDuel, Ohio State sits at a 15.5-point favorite. They have been favored in every game so far this year, and probably will continue to be. The over/under is set at 60.5, which indicates they believe the Buckeyes will score a lot of points yet again.

The spread seems a bit low, but this is also the first time that Ohio State has had to play a team that’s currently ranked in the top 25. I tend to think that OSU should be 20-point favorites. Then again, it is on the road.

Ohio State football vs. Penn State Prediction Week 9

It’s early in the week, but I think the Buckeyes should still win this game. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will play according to Ryan Day, but we don’t know how many snaps yet. Even if he wasn’t playing I’d still take the Buckeyes in this one. I think they are one of the best teams in the country.

How they play in this one will show me whether or not they are the absolute best team or not. I have the Buckeyes covering and winning the game 45-17.
