The Ohio State football team is the second-ranked team in the country. They have won every game by double-digits and haven’t truly been threatened yet. Perhaps the biggest reason for that is because of how dangerous they are throwing the ball.

C.J. Stroud is the leader for the Heisman right now. He has put up outstanding numbers. Right now, he’s thrown for 1,737 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions. He’s completing 70.6% of his passes and is leading the best offense in the country.

Apparently, that’s still not good enough to be named an All-American. The AP came out with their midseason All-American team yesterday. Two Buckeyes were on it; Paris Johnson Jr. and Marvin Harrison Jr. Both of those guys definitely deserved to be chosen.

Despite everything Stroud has done for the Ohio State football team, Hendon Hooker was chosen over him.

That’s right. Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker got the nod at the quarterback spot over Stroud. Don’t get me wrong, Hooker has been great. He’s also really good. But the only reason he got this spot is because the Vols just beat Alabama. He’s not actually better than Stroud.

It’s straight-up disrespectful that Stroud was snubbed from this team. I’m sure it’s something he doesn’t care about though. Ryan Day keeps talking about how Stroud doesn’t care about individual accolades at all. He just cares about winning and getting a shot at a national title.

I’d be surprised if the AP didn’t change their minds before the end of the season. Stroud has a chance to light up ranked teams in Penn State and Michigan before the season is over. That Michigan game will likely determine which Big Ten team goes to the College Football Playoff.

If Hooker is still the choice to be the quarterback on the First-Team, it’s just not going to be the right decision. I don’t see Tennessee finishing the year undefeated, even if they are still a really good team this year. Hooker won’t be able to sustain his level of play.
