Ohio State football predicted to land stud 5-star recruit
By Ryan Stano
The recruiting front has been quiet in terms of commitments for the Ohio State football team since the season started. Recruits for the 2023 class have been busy taking visits to multiple campuses and trying to figure out where might be the best place for them.
Ohio State has been trying to land three five-star defensive ends and has hosted them for multiple games. It seems that the hard work is about to pay off for them to land one of those stud guys as he is now predicted to go to Columbus and play for the Buckeyes.
Damon Wilson is now projected by 247Sports to join the Buckeyes’ 2023 class. Wilson now becomes the top priority for the Buckeyes in closing out this class before the end of the year. Wilson is the 18th-best player in the country and the second-best edge guy.
Wilson stands at 6’4 and 230 pounds and is a beast on the outside. His tape shows that he has the power to bull through tackles to get to the quarterback. Yet, he’s still athletic enough to contain the outside as well. He has the whole package of physical tools.
Wilson visited Columbus for the season-opener against Notre Dame. He was very impressed with what he saw. He visited Georgia last week but must have been more impressed with what the Ohio State football program can offer him.
Nothing is set in stone of course. Wilson has not offered his commitment yet and there is no indication as to when he might make his decision. Landing him would be a big boost to a recruiting class that showed so much promise early before faltering in the Summer.
We will certainly let you know if anything happens with his recruitment. We will be anxiously awaiting his decision.
