It’s exactly midway through the season for the Ohio State football team as they have their bye week. They look like they are one of the best teams in the country at the moment. They still have to play the hardest part of their schedule moving forward though.

The Buckeyes are liked by both the traditional stats and the advanced stats as well. That doesn’t mean that they are automatically going to make the College Football Playoff. They still have some work to do and things to sure up before that happens.

There are three future bets that I think are good if you’re looking to make some wagers on the Buckeyes. Midway through the year, we know who this team is and what they do best. We have learned how good the defense is and how elite the offense is.

The first best I think is intriguing and has to do with some individual players and their Heisman odds.

Three Ohio State football players have intriguing Heisman odds

C.J. Stroud sits as the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy right now according to FanDuel. The Buckeye quarterback is coming off a 6-touchdown performance against Michigan State and has looked like the best player in the country all year. His odds sit at -140.

If you’re looking to get some more value, take a look at the two running backs. Miyan Williams sits at +10000 and TreVeyon Henderson is at +20000. If you decide you want to put some faith in the Buckeye running game to create the bulk of the yardage against the tougher future opponents, that could be an option.

Stroud should win the award as long as Ohio State makes the CFP. He’s been the best player on the best team in the country, even if Ohio State sits at two in the polls as of right now. It makes sense that he’s the favorite to win it now.

The second bet has to do with Ohio State’s national championship odds.
