Is this the week the Ohio State football team is finally healthy?
By Ryan Stano
This has not been an ideal year when it comes to health for the Ohio State football team. They have had to deal with numerous injuries on the defensive side of the ball, including being down their top three cornerbacks against Wisconsin. Yet, the defense has played well.
The same thing can be said for the offensive side of the ball. The Buckeyes have been without Jaxon Smith-Njigba most of the season. Yet, the offense has been deadly. They score more points than anyone else in the country and are third in yards per game.
Is this the week that the Ohio State football team is finally healthy?
Ryan Day had his weekly press conference yesterday. In that press conference, he talked about the health of his team. He said the Buckeyes should get TreVeyon Henderson back for this game after he missed the Rutgers game with an undisclosed injury.
Day also said that he hopes to have both Cameron Brown and Smith-Njigba back for this game as well. Before you rejoice, we’ve heard this song and dance before. Until we see JSN back out on the field, I’m not going to believe that he is actually ready to play.
It would be really nice to have all of those guys back on the field this weekend against the Spartans. This team needs to start having some reps with the full team available for when they actually start to play some tough teams within the conference in a few weeks.
We’ll see how many healthy people the Buckeyes actually have for Saturday afternoon’s game. Even if Brown and JSN don’t play, Ohio State should still be able to win this game without too much trouble. That won’t be the case when they play Penn State or TTUN though.
