Prediction 1: Expect Rutgers 2.0 in this game for the Ohio State football team’s offense.

The book is out on Ohio State on how opposing defenses want to play them. Drop eight guys on passing downs, force C.J. Stroud to throw underneath, and let the running game beat you. This is what Notre Dame did too much success. This is what Rutgers tried to do last week.

Teams will not want Stroud and company to beat them with explosive plays. They will try to let Ohio State have longer drives, hoping for a mistake such as a pick or a fumble. It’s really the only way to play this Buckeye offense.

Mel Tucker is a former secondary coach who will scheme up his backend to play sound football and to keep the plays in front of them. Stroud may try to force one like he did last week, resulting in a Rutgers interception.

Looks for another ground and pound type day for the Buckeyes. Miyan Williams may have another game where he comes close to 200 yards rushing if TreVeyon Henderson can’t go. Stroud will still put up some stats, but I think the days of him passing for 500 yards in a single game are over.

Even so, Stroud should put up some decent numbers. He’s the Heisman frontrunner for a reason and he has the best group of receivers in the country to throw to. The next bold prediction deals with the defense.
