The Ohio State football team was a 40-point favorite against Rutgers. While they just barely didn’t cover, they still won 49-10. It was another solid win even if the Buckeyes didn’t play their best game of the season like Ryan Day wanted to.

This was the Miyan Williams show. With TreVeyon Henderson a late scratch, Williams got the bulk of the carries. He was phenomenal. He had 21 carries for 189 yards and a whopping 5 touchdowns. That touchdown mark tied the great Keith Byers for the program record.

C.J. Stroud didn’t have his best game. He was only 13/22 for 154 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. He was off all day for the first time this season. it almost looked like Day was trying to force him to get some numbers down by the goal line. He kept calling plays to get him a passing touchdown but it didn’t work.

The Ohio State defense was good in this one. The only reason they allowed a touchdown in the first place is because Emeka Egbuka muffed a punt early in the game and gave Rutgers starting field position inside Ohio State’s 20. Denzel Burke got burned (again) for the lone touchdown Rutgers was able to muster.

While it wasn’t the cleanest game the Ohio State football team has played this year, it was good enough to get a win. That’s all that matters in the end. Now they can turn their full attention to the first road opponent of the season in Michigan State.
