Ohio State football vs. Rutgers: Weather report
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team takes on Rutgers tomorrow afternoon. It’s the Homecoming game for the Buckeyes and they are excited to play it. This is the final of five straight home games to start off the season. Next week they will be in East Lansing to take on Michigan State.
As far as this game is concerned, the Buckeyes should be able to win. The spread is large, so unless something really bad happens, they should win. Bad weather is one of those things that could affect the game and slow down Ohio State though.
So how does the weather look for the game right now? It’s a little dicey. The temperature at kickoff is going to be right around 61 degrees. It will only drop to 60 by the time the game is over as well. What makes it dicey is Hurricane Ian’s projected path.
Right now, it is projected to turn northwest towards Ohio. It is forecasted to dissipate before it gets there though. Right now, there’s only a 22% chance of rain for the game. It’s just supposed to be a cloudy affair as of now. Wind will be a concern throughout the game though.
The winds will be sustained at 14 mph and could gust up to 20. That will affect the passing game for both teams, as well as the kicking game. That makes things a bit more difficult for the Ohio State football team. They get the majority of their yardage through the air.
I don’t think the weather will be bad enough to affect the outcome of this game. I expect the Buckeyes to come in focused and ready to dominate from the start. It should be another blowout before next week’s trip to Michigan State for their first away game of the year.
