Final Score: Ohio State Buckeyes 56, Rutgers Scarlet Knights 10

Like I said earlier, Buckeye head coach Ryan Day and Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano are friends. Could Ohio State put up 70 on Rutgers? Sure. But I don’t see it happening. Day will be no holds bar in the first half. Expect a lot of throws from Stroud to accumulate as many first-half stats as possible. That also will mean a lot of points. Whatever the first-half spread is, take the Buckeyes!

On the other side of the ball, Jim Knowles and company will be looking for turnovers. I also can’t foresee the Scarlet Knights being able to sustain many drives. I’ll give them a fourth-quarter touchdown but not much more.

In the second half, I think Day will let Kyle McCord throw it around to get his confidence up and to get him some experience, and then Day will tighten up the playbook in the red zone and call a lot of runs plays.

Ohio State does what it needs to do in this one. A convincing victory while hopefully not exposing players to unnecessary injury.

Buckeyes 56, Scarlet Knights 10.
