The undefeated Ohio State football team takes on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday in Ohio Stadium. Here are three bold predictions for the game.

Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team have had a great start to the 2022 season. Knocking off Notre Dame in Week 1 followed by last weekend’s dominance of the Wisconsin Badgers have some wondering if the Buckeyes are the number one team in the country.

For now, Georgia holds that spot, and Ohio State is only four points back of number two Alabama in the AP Poll. A win against Rutgers doesn’t mean much in the long run, it’s what is expected of Ohio State. But a lackluster performance on Saturday afternoon could mean the difference in the Scarlet and Gray being ranked number one, two, or three.

Rutgers enters the game at 3-1 with two decent wins against Temple and Boston College. Former Buckeye defensive coordinator Greg Schiano has this program headed in the right direction after a decade of miserable football.

Rutgers opened Big Ten play last week with a 27-10 loss to Iowa at home. A game in which starting quarterback Evan Simon threw for 300 yards in defeat.

The bottom line is as long as Ohio State makes it to the football field on Saturday, they will win. It’s just a matter of by how much. Here are three predictions for the game.
