Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Prediction and Odds for Week 5 College Football Over/Under, Spread
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is taking on Rutgers this week in their final home game in a five-game stretch. This is homecoming and will see the Scarlet Knights coming in after the Buckeyes hammered Wisconsin 52-21 last Saturday night.
Rutgers happens to be coming in when Ohio State is hitting their stride, so that’s bad news for them. The Buckeyes have shown their offense is unstoppable right now, and that’s even without their best player. So what are some bets you can place on this game then?
Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Odds Week 5
Right now, the Buckeyes are favored by a whopping 40 points according to FanDuel. This is the second-largest spread the Buckeyes have had all season. Only against Arkansas State were they favored by more. That’s somewhat surprising considering Rutgers is 3-1.
The over/under is set at just 59.5, which seems low to me. I don’t think Ohio State is going to have any trouble scoring points in this one. Rutgers might though after only mustering 10 points against Iowa in their loss last week. Still, Ohio State might score 50 by themselves again.
Ohio State football vs. Rutgers Prediction Week 5
I don’t think any team is playing as well on offense as the Buckeyes are right now. What they are doing without their best player has been astounding. Defensively, they are much improved from last year. They still have some things to work out, but they are still better than they were in 2021.
With that being said, I have Ohio State winning this game 56-7. I think they easily cover the spread and I think this game hits the over as well. Ohio State might even win by more if Jaxon Smith-Njigba does end up playing in this one too.
This should be another good win before Ohio State goes on the road for the first time all season.
