Former Ohio State football player clowns fan on Twitter after he talks smack
By Ryan Stano
There were a lot of good things that happened on Sunday for former Ohio State football players. Garrett Wilson had a game-winning touchdown pass, Curtis Samuel had a touchdown catch, and Chris Olave continues to have a great start to his rookie season.
Denzel Ward was not quite on that list. He and his Browns lost to Wilson’s Jets because the defense couldn’t hold a 13-point lead with under 2 minutes left to play. A fan thought that Ward had a bad game and let him know about it with a tweet.
The fan claimed that this was the first time. in his career, NFL or college, that Ward had allowed 100 yards receiving. Ward made sure to fire back with some facts about how the game actually transpired.
Ward is one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league for a reason. He is an excellent player when he’s out there. The problem for him has been staying healthy. He’s missed a lot of games in his NFL career so far. But he doesn’t play poorly when he’s out there.
If Ward was indeed only targeted once, that’s a pretty good comeback to fire back with. He knows his game better than a lot of fans out there do. He’s one of those elite Ohio State football players in the league on the defensive side of the ball. There are a lot of them.
Ward and the Browns will look to get back in the win column next week. He will certainly get a chance to show everyone that the loss against New York was not his fault.
