Before the Ohio State football team took on Toledo Saturday night, Ryan Day talked about how it was time for the Buckeyes to dominate. He wanted the offense to get going on all cylinders for the first time all season. Ohio State was able to do that and then some.

C.J. Stroud was unbelievable, throwing for 367 yards on 22/27 passes and 5 touchdowns. He could have had a 6th if he hadn’t missed a wide-open Cade Stover in the endzone. Stroud was simply sensational, as was the entire offense. They had over 700 yards of total offense in this game.

Marvin Harrison Jr. was great once again, catching 6 passes for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. The receivers were great in general. Stover was a factor in this game too, catching 3 passes for 83 yards. I love it when the tight end gets involved in the game.

The defense was the one issue at times. Ohio State won the game 77-21, but those 21 points were the most they’ve given up so far. Denzel Burke got burned again on a long touchdown pass and Cameron Brown got hurt in the first half. But there were some good defensive moments too.

The defense finally forced a turnover. In fact, they forced two of them. Ronnie Hickman got an interception and Palaie Gaoteote recovered a fumble. It was great to see the defense finally get some because they were one of only 8 FBS teams to not force one through two weeks.

This was domination all throughout. This was a nice warmup for the Badgers of Wisconsin coming in next weekend. This is the type of performance Day wanted to see before a Big Ten team comes in The Shoe. The Ohio State football team was clearly the best team on the field.

Next. A weak Big Ten West helps the Buckeyes. dark

There are still things to clean up on both sides of the ball, but this was another solid win for the Buckeyes.
