Ohio State Football vs. Toledo: Three bold predictions
2. TreVeyon Henderson has a big day for the Ohio State football team
It’s no secret that head coach Ryan Day likes easing his running backs into seasons. Take this year for example. It’s been a pretty even split in carries between TreVeyon Henderson‘s 25 touches and Myian Williams’ 22 rushes.
I have no reason to believe that it will change against an inferior opponent such as Toledo. I just believe that Henderson will make the most of his carries and have a monster day against a defensive unit that gave up 217 yards rushing last week to UMass.
Currently, Henderson has 178 yards rushing through two games and a 7.1 yards per rush average. I expect Henderson to come close to doubling his season output come Saturday evening. My prediction is 16 carries for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
A performance like that with a few big runs could easily put Henderson in the Heisman conversation as the Buckeyes open up conference play the following week. He’s gotten off to a slow start when it comes to his individual numbers, so this week could change that.
If Henderson is able to put up a performance like this, he could end up getting way more touches than Williams moving forward. My final bold prediction has to deal with how much the Buckeyes will beat the Rockets.
