We are already in Week 3 of the college football season and the Ohio State football team has started 2-0. They now prepare to play the only in-state opponent they will face this season in Toledo. It will also be the second home night game they have played already.

This is the second straight game for the Buckeyes that they will be expected to be able to use backups in the second half. This is the final tune-up they will get before the Big Ten portion of the schedule starts next weekend when Wisconsin comes to town.

Ohio State football vs. Toledo Odds Week 3

Like last week, the Buckeyes are huge favorites. They aren’t as big as last week though. They are only 31.5-point favorites this week against the Rockets according to FanDuel. This is a much more manageable spread for a team that has failed to cover the first two weeks of the season.

The over/under sits at 60.5 which seems about right to me. If Ohio State gets Jaxon Smith-Njigba back for this game, the offense could have its best week yet. I do expect him to play as he was a game-time decision last week. That week of rest probably did him well.

Ohio State football vs. Toledo Prediction Week 3

I haven’t done all of my Toledo study yet but I do know they have an excellent defense. They are top-five in the country on that side of the ball, although the level of competition they’ve faced so far hasn’t been really high. I don’t think they can slow down this Ohio State team.

This is a week that I do think the Buckeyes can cover the spread. I think they clean some things up on defense as well and make it tough to score. Give me the Buckeyes 59-7. I think it’s going to be a bloodbath and the Bucks finally have a good start to the game.
