Ohio State Football vs. Arkansas State: Three bold predictions
2.) The Ohio State football team should expect a break-out performance from Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka had a big day last Saturday against Notre Dame. His stat line finished with nine receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba sidelined with an injury, Egbuka seemed to be the most dangerous Buckeye with the ball in his hand versus the Irish. He was a fraction away from busting a big play on more than a few occasions.
I say on Saturday in Ohio Stadium the Egbuka turns those almost big plays into real ones. With JSN questionable for the game, and Julian Fleming’s injury situation still unknown, Egbuka will be a lock to be C.J. Stroud’s top target and that could mean a big day against a defense that gave up over 500 yards per game last season to its opponents.
I’m expecting Emeka Egbuka to show why he was the top wide receiver recruit in his class with a big performance of 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Look for him to also have a couple of explosive plays of 30 yards or more as well.
Egbuka is also a great returner and shows flashes of breaking a big return almost every time he touches the ball in that regard. Unfortunately against Notre Dame, he didn’t really have a chance to do something like that. That could change this weekend against the Red Wolves.
The final bold prediction I have for this game has to do with the final score and how badly the Buckeyes are able to beat Arkansas State.
