The Ohio State football team will be taking on Notre Dame on Saturday night under the lights. It might very well be the most-watched non-conference game in all of college football this season. It’s a top-five matchup, so it would make sense if that were the case.

The Buckeyes are heavily favored in this game. We know that is a product of how good the offense was last year and the fact that they hired the best defensive coordinator in the country in the offseason. What we don’t know is if that hire will translate into better defense yet.

C.J. Stroud should still be able to move the ball up and down the field almost at will. The weather is starting to get a bit dicey, but we’ll know more about that tomorrow. In any case, Ohio State’s offense should still be able to get the job done and I fully expect them to.

If the weather is bad, the defense has more of a challenge in front of them. They have to stop Notre Dame’s run game. Otherwise, they will just keep the ball away from the Ohio State football team and just kill the clock. It’s imperative the defensive line plays well.

Official prediction: Ohio State football 42 Notre Dame 20

Notre Dame doesn’t have the talent to keep up with the Buckeyes in the second half. I could see the Irish keeping it close in the first half, but Ohio State makes adjustments and blows them out in the second half. They have too much offensive talent.

Next. Three keys to a win vs. Notre Dame. dark

I think Notre Dame shows fight i the first half and I still think they are a good team. I just think that Ohio State is on another level when compared to them. I see the Buckeyes starting the season out with a solid win.
